Registration

Necessary documents required in case of registration can be found at [1].

In order to complete a registration for a .IE domain you will have to upload the necessary documents at [2] and provide the "Ticket ID" and Email address. The "Ticket ID" is returned with a pending create event and can be found with the response of a statusDomain command as PROPERTY[X-IE-TICKET-ID][0]. Supported file types are .pdf, .tif, .tiff, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .doc, .docx, and .odt.

Despite, that there exist 8 cases for the document-requirements, there are only three (3) values for X-IE-CONTACT-TYPE.

Company -> COM (requires X-IE-CRO-NUMBER in addition)

Charity -> CHA (requires X-IE-SUPPORT-NUMBER in addition)

Everything else -> OTH (can use X-IE-SUPPORT-NUMBER in addition)

There is also an option for an Express Registration Process:

Auto-validation – Returning Customer We have an express registration process for returning customers that already hold a .ie domain. A request to register an additional .ie domain will be automatically approved, if the request includes either the existing Registrant Contact ID, or the same Registrant name, email address and registrant type as used on the existing registration.

Auto-validation – Company We have an express registration process for Irish companies that have an active CRO number. When applying for a .ie domain, the Company application type just needs to be selected, the CRO number entered into the appropriate field, and the Registrant name entered correctly.

Ownerchange

Necessary documents required in case of ownerchange:

A signed document on headed paper from the current Administrative Contact (domain holder). This letter must state that they authorise the cancellation of the domain name in order to reassign the domain to the future domain owner.

Information from the future domain owner showing their claim on the proposed name as per the IEDR’s registration policies.

The future owner must also provide their contact details to be updated as the Administrative Contact.

In order to complete an ownerchange for a .IE domain you will have to send the necessary documents to the registry.
Supported file types are .pdf, .tif, .tiff, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .doc, .docx, and .odt.

New X-Flags for the connection to ireland process

With the update to Titan we implemented new X-Flags to match new new requirements:

X-IE-CONTACT-TYPE TEXT (COM|CHA|OTH)
The contact’s Connection to Ireland (CTI) category that is used to indicate how the Registrant meets specific presence requirements.
CTI category values include Charity, Company, and Other.
CTI category information is mandatory if you intend to register a .IE domain.

X-IE-CRO-NUMBER TEXT
The Companies Registration Office (CRO)identifier that can be used to ensure the company is in a valid state to be registering domains.

X-IE-SUPPORT-NUMBER TEXT
The identifier for a charity or a supporting number (RBN or VAT, for example)for other contact types.

New optional Flag:

X-DISCLOSE: The domain privacy setting for WHOIS information of private individuals configured as either (0)Private or (1)Public.

If you register a .IE domain and are a private individual, by default, the registry hides the contact data you provide at the point of registration. For those individuals who wish to make public their contact data, the registry allows for disclosure of the information at your request and approval.

You can set and/or update the parameter X-DISCLOSE executed through the domain name commands (AddDomain, ModifyDomain).

X-DISCLOSE = 0 | 1 No support for using the X-DISCLOSE parameter with the contact related commands (AddContact, ModifyContact).

Restore Process

To restore a domain as a RegistrarOC customer, you simply have to execute the RestoreDomain command. HEXONET directly forwards the restore request to the registry, which performs the restore in real-time. As soon as the restore is complete, the domain will get assigned to your account with the original domain data.

Please do not initiate a restore directly at the registry (e.g. using the registrar webinterface). All restore operations must be performed through our system.
