Domain Limitations and Requirements

The .MOBI registry provides a dynamic web proxy service, called Instant Mobilizer, that can be assigned to a .MOBI domain. This proxy automatically transforms the web content of an existing non-.MOBI domain name in a way that it becomes compliant to the xhtml-mp profile for mobile devices.

The Instant Mobilizer can be enabled via the AddDomain and ModifyDomain API commands, using the following parameters:

X-MOBI-ACCEPT-INSTANTMOBILIZER-TAC = 0 | 1

and

X-MOBI-INSTANTMOBILIZER-DOMAIN = <DOMAIN>

E.g. to activate the Instant Mobilizer Service and proxy "http://www.acme-the-best-company.com/":

COMMAND = ModifyDomain
DOMAIN = acme.mobi
X-MOBI-ACCEPT-INSTANTMOBILIZER-TAC = 1
X-MOBI-INSTANTMOBILIZER-DOMAIN = www.acme-the-best-company.com

E.g. to deactivate the Instant Mobilizer Service:

COMMAND = ModifyDomain
DOMAIN = acme.mobi
X-MOBI-ACCEPT-INSTANTMOBILIZER-TAC = 0

When activating the Instant Mobilizer Service, the original nameserver set will be replaced by one provided by the registry, but it will be restored to the original set once the service gets deactivated.

No special procedures.
