Delete Domain

Domains can be deleted with the API DeleteDomain command.
There is a Deletion Restorable Period of 29 days and a following Deletion Hold Period of 0 days.

Restores can be processed in realtime. A restore is possible within 29 days upon deletion. Please use the command RestoreDomain.

Ownerchange

An Ownerchange is free of charge and can be done with the API ModifyDomain command.

After a change of the owner contact has been submitted, the registry will not allow any updates to the domain details for 5 days. Please ensure other updates, like nameservers, have been completed before the owner update is submitted.

Nameserver Checks

PLEASE NOTE: The registry performs nameserver checks, therefore, domains are not activated until the domain's nameservers are successfully checked by the registry.

Terms and Restricitions

Please be advised that domain changes might not be reflected in the .ZA registry's WHOIS until the five day pendingUpdate period has passed.

Please be advised that changes to the domain or associated contacts might not be possible for the first week after registration, due to registry policies.

Transfer procedure

When transferring a .CO.ZA domain, the domain registrant may choose to either approve or deny the transfer request. It's important to note that if the transfer request is not approved within 5 days, it will be automatically denied.

• The registry will send an email of approval to the registrant regarding the transfer.
  
• If the registrant denies the transfer, it will fail instantly.
  
• In case no response is received, either to approve or deny, the transfer of the domain will not take place.
  

It is possible to start a transfer after the domain has expired but only in the first five days (Pending Suspension).
If a domain is pending transfer when it expires, the domain transfer will still go through and it will reach the new registrar with the status "expired".

RegistrarOC

Restore Process

To restore a domain as a RegistrarOC customer, you simply have to execute the RestoreDomain command. HEXONET directly forwards the restore request to the registry, which performs the restore in real-time. As soon as the restore is complete, the domain will get assigned to your account with the original domain data.

Please do not initiate a restore directly at the registry (e.g. using the registrar webinterface). All restore operations must be performed through our system.
