Necessary documents required in case of registration:
Company:
Case 1: Not yet registered for trading purposes: Copies of identification (Passport/Drivers Licence etc.) proof of address and a letter which outlines the claim to the domain name
Case 2: Sole Trader VAT number, CRO number, RBN or a letter from an accountant, solicitor or bank manager confirming being a Sole Trader
Case 3: Registered Business Number (RBN) RBN is sufficient
Case 4: Registering a domain for a publication created by the company Copy of the publication or link if online
Case 5: Domain for a new product Company number and extra information (signed letter on company letterhead outlining the claim to the name)
Case 6: Domain based on the company’s name Company number
Individual

Ownerchange
Necessary documents required in case of ownerchange:
A signed document on headed paper from the current Administrative Contact (domain holder). This letter must state that they authorise the cancellation of the domain name in order to reassign the domain to the future domain owner.
Information from the future domain owner showing their claim on the proposed name as per the IEDR’s registration policies.
The future owner must also provide their contact details to be updated as the Administrative Contact.
In order to complete an ownerchange for a .IE domain you will have to send the necessary documents to the registry.
Supported file types are .pdf, .tif, .tiff, .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .bmp, .doc, .docx, and .odt.
X-IE-REGISTRANT-CLASS
Simplified registration process
IEDR has simplify the registration process starting on 2017-11-04.
Formerly a valid combination of X-IE-REGISTRANT-CLASS and X-IE-REGISTRANT-CATEGORY had to be provided. Now only a simplified X-IE-REGISTRANT-CLASS has to be given.
