Domain Registration

Domains can be registered with the API AddDomain command.

command = AddDomain
domain  = (DOMAIN)

ownercontact0 = (CONTACT)
admincontact0 = (CONTACT)
nameserver0 = (NAMESERVER)
nameserver1 = (NAMESERVER)

X-REGISTRANT-VATID = VatID of the company (only for companies)
X-ADMIN-VATID = VatID of the company (only for companies)

techcontact0 = (CONTACT)
billingcontact0 = (CONTACT)
auth = <TEXT> | <NULL>
transferlock = 0 | 1 | <NULL>
subuser = <TEXT> | <NULL>

The transferlock and authcode are only supported for USERTRANSFERS inside HEXONET. The registry itself does not support both!

Domain Transfer

The transfer has to be initiated by the gaining registrar and can be requested with the API TransferDomain command.

command = TransferDomain
domain = (DOMAIN)

auth = <TEXT>
period = <PERIOD>

Delete Domain

Domains can be deleted with the API DeleteDomain command.
There is a Deletion Restorable Period of 30 days and a following Deletion Hold Period of 0 days.

command = DeleteDomain
domain = (DOMAIN)

If a .DK domain is deleted, HEXONET will push it to the registry, the registrant will be the future billing contact. So this is not a real deletion as only the registrant is able to delete the domain name at the registry!

Restore Domain

Restores can be processed automatically but not in realtime. A restore is possible within 30 days upon deletion. Please use the command RestoreDomain.

command = RestoreDomain
domain = (DOMAIN)

subuser = (TEXT)
renewalmode = (NULL) | (TEXT)

A Change of Registrant can only be directly processed by the registry. It can be done by the current domain owner by logging into the self-service portal on this link: .DK Self-service.

TLD specific

DK Hostmaster Agreement to Terms and Conditions:

All registrants must be aware of the following information upon registering a .DK domain:

"Your application for the specified .dk domain name will be sent to DK Hostmaster A/S. DK Hostmaster A/S will contact you per email to enter into an agreement on the right to use the domain name according to the terms and conditions that apply hereto. This is a condition for becoming registrant of the domain name. Please note that you must inter into the agreement no later than 4 days after you received the email from DK Hostmaster. In this context, you agree, pursuant to Section 18 (2) (13) of the Danish Consumer Contract Act, to renounce the right to withdraw from the agreement on the right to use the specified .dk domain name. Furthermore, you give your consent for DK Hostmaster A/S, as domain administrator, to use your personal data in accordance with its personal data policy."

If the registration was successful, the owner receives an email from HostmasterDK with a login and a Pincode. Example of a confirmation email:

On xx.xx.2008 we reserved the above domain name for you.
User ID: xxxxxx-DK   Pincode: xxxx

Both User ID and '''Pincode''' are needed for the activation and further modifications of the domain.

Registrants must activate their domain and agree to the terms and conditions within 4 days of receiving this email.

Please note that you have to state the VAT-ID during the registration if the owner/admin contact is a organization (company). The VAT-ID is required and can be specified on creating or modifying the contact handle of the registrant / admin contact. Further information about creating contact handles can be found here: AddContact

command = AddDomain

X-REGISTRANT-VATID = VatID of the company
X-ADMIN-VATID = VatID of the company

Refund in case of failed registrations

If the registration of a .DK domain fails after 4 days because the registrant did not agree to the terms and conditions a full refund will be provided automatically.

In all other cases (e.g. missing activation or wrong contact data for the registrant), the registry will give NO refund of the registration fee at all and no refund will be provided.

Registrations by using an existing User ID

Customers with an existing DK-HOSTMASTER account can provide their User ID in order to place newly registered domains on their existing account. This only applies to .DK domains.

The requirements are described as 'Method 1' at . If you intend to use this alternative method and have adjusted your registration flow accordingly then you can submit the required time stamp with the registration request as X-DK-AGREEMENT-ACCEPTEDDATE in UTC (e.g. as '2018-08-30 17:00:00'):

Nameserver Validation

Nameservers can only be used if are registered at HostmasterDK and the domain is correctly activated by the domain owner.
It have to be registered and approved by DK hostmaster.

Approval of the nameserver can be requested here:

Nameserver Limit

The limit of 7 (seven) nameservers also applies to the NS records on the actual nameservers. If there are more, the update will generally fail.

The Transfer procedure for .DK domains is semi-automated. To transfer a .DK domain into your account, please initiate the transfer in your account using TransferDomain or the respective transfer function in the Control Panel. As soon as this has been done, we receive a message and will manually import the domain into account.
Note: if the domain transfer does not complete at the registry, it will time out after 5 days.

Restore Process

To restore a domain as a RegistrarOC customer, you simply have to execute the RestoreDomain command. HEXONET directly forwards the restore request to the registry, which performs the restore in short time. As soon as the restore has been completed by the registry, the domain will get assigned to your account with the original domain data.

Please do not initiate a restore directly at the registry (e.g. using the registrar webinterface). All restore operations must be performed through our system.
