.TEL Updates on March 13th, 2017
Summary
As of March 13, 2017, previous DNS restrictions are lifted by the registry, allowing .TEL registrants the freedom to choose how to use and host their .TEL domain names.
A newly upgraded Telhosting platform is a ready-made option among others for customers to showcase their .TEL domain names.
A New Telhosting Platform
.TEL registrants will be issued an email with account details for the new, optional Telhosting system. This platform may be accessed at https://www.managemy.tel. More information will also be available on the registry's website (www.telnic.org). New content on this and other platforms will now resolve in the DNS.
iOS and Android apps will be available that will enable .TEL domain name customers using Telhosting to manage their domain names using their smartphone. Downloads for these apps will be available from Telnic's website or from the Apple and Google Play stores around March 2017.
Key Dates and Actions to be Taken
As of March 13th, 2017, the old Telhosting system was permanently shut down and any data was PERMANENTLY DELETED. Registrants who backed up their data may use it as a reference for populating their new account or as a data source for populating an independent and separate third party hosting solution.
It is also important to note that Telnic will not run the old and new platform simultaneously and will not be offering sub domain functionality in the new platform. Should .TEL registrants wish to continue to host their domain on a similar version to the current Telhosting platform which incorporates sub domains, please ask them to contact the .TEL registry at [email protected] to discuss options available.

Domain Limitations and Requirements
.TEL-Hosting
As soon as a domain has been registered successfully, the following parameters will provide you the login and password for the .TEL-hosting platform.
Please add the following parameters with the StatusDomain command:
PROPERTY[X-TEL-CTH-LOGIN][0] (shows the login) PROPERTY[X-TEL-CTH-PASSWORD][0] (shows the password)
Via the Web-Interface: Once registered, please use your provided control panel to retrieve your .TEL-hosting Platform login details. Please be advised that each and every .TEL domain has its own .TEL-hosting Platform login credential. You can obtain this information via the API-Command above or by clicking on Domains/Status in the HEXONET Web-Interface. Using the specific login credentials provided, you can setup and configure your .TEL domain at http://telhosting.1api.net. Configuration changes and initial setup may take up to six hours to process and to take effect. Additional configuration assistance is available in the Tel-hosting Platform interface, under "Users Guide" section.

Necessary actions after .TEL domain transfer
A .TEL domain managed through our system needs 3 objects: the domain itself, a so called CTH user and a so called CTH zone. Only if all 3 objects exist and are correctly assigned to each other, the .TEL domain can be used properly.
- At first, you have to create a .TEL CTH user account with a specific password by using the following command:
EXAMPLE: - Please remember the password when creating a new account. If you do not explicitly set a password, the .TEL system will automatically generate a random password for you. The password will be displayed after sending the command and will be sent out to the email address of the registrant.
In case of creating a CTH user with this command, the password will not be visible in the status of the domain afterwards. Please note that the maximum length of a username is 32 characters.
command = TELNIC_CTH_CreateUser X-TEL-CTH-LOGIN = <TEXT> EMAIL = <EMAIL> X-TEL-CTH-PASSWORD = <TEXT> (optional)
- The next step is to create a .TEL CTH zone by using the following command:
TELNIC_CTH_CreateZone. This command creates a new .TEL zone and assigns it to the respective .TEL CTH user account. The optional parameter
synchronized = 0 | 1
can be used to delete / remove a formerly added zone or a zone which is still at the foreign registrar (please refer to the example below).
EXAMPLE: - This command allows you to assign domains to an existing .TEL account.
command = TELNIC_CTH_CreateZone domain = <DOMAIN> X-TEL-CTH-LOGIN = <TEXT synchronized = 0 | 1 (optional)
